Client / Brand: BVMWR Website
Scope: Web development (listing portal for petrol pumps) + On-page & off-page SEO
Objective: To build a robust listing website for petrol pumps (service providers) and enhance its organic visibility to attract service enquiries.

Background

BVMWR needed a digital platform to list petrol-pump service providers (locations, details, listings) and also to reach target users via search engines. Website development and SEO were required to ensure strong visibility and high conversion of visitors into enquiries.

Challenges

  • Required multiple listings with filters (e.g., location, service type) and good UX for mobile and desktop.
  • Competitive niche (listings websites) and pump-service portals are often poorly optimized.
  • The new site had to load quickly, show many listings without slowdowns, and rank well.
  • SEO needed to target local searches (e.g., “petrol pump listing Malawi”, “fuel station service listing Malawi”) and fix technical issues (site speed, structured data, mobile optimisation).

Strategy & Implementation

1. Website Development:

  • Developed custom WordPress (or other) site: custom post type “Listings” for petrol pumps, taxonomy “Location”, filters, map integration.
  • Built responsive design, listing cards, search & filter features, and pagination.
  • Implemented performance optimisation: caching, lazy-loading images, and minimal plugins to reduce bloat.
  • Set up Schema markup (LocalBusiness, Service) for each listing.

2. On-Page & Technical SEO:

  • Researched keywords for listing-site niche (local + service).
  • Optimised each listing page: unique title/description, H1, meta tags.
  • Improved site architecture (clear categories, internal linking) so search engines index listings.
  • Improved site speed and mobile friendliness (PageSpeed Insights improvements).

3. Off-Page & Local SEO:

  • Built local citations, listing the site on directories, and ensured listings get backlinks from relevant sources.
  • Generated content (blogs) around listing themes (“How to choose petrol pump services in Karachi”, “Top fuel-service stations near you”) to attract search traffic.
  • Promoted listing site via social media and local service groups for brand awareness.

Results (Parameters to fill)

  • Initial count = X listings; After N months = Y listings.
  • Percent increase from 10,000 → 17,000 sessions.
  • Load time was ~6s, now ~2.5s; Mobile PSI score was ~40, now ~75.
  • Enquiry form submissions increased by B% over baseline.
  • Number of target keywords ranking in Google Top 10 increased from 15 → 3.

Key Takeaways

  • A dedicated listing site with good UX + fast performance can stand out even in competitive niches.
  • Combining listing-site architecture (custom post types, filters) with SEO best practices (structured data, mobile speed) yields sustainable organic growth.
  • Local SEO and content tied to location-based queries (e.g., “fuel service Karachi”) drive relevant traffic for listing sites.

Next Steps & Recommendations

  • Add more interactive features: map-based search, user reviews for listings, and ratings.
  • Expand listing categories (e.g., service providers beyond petrol pumps: car-wash, tyre shops).
  • Implement membership plans for listing owners (premium listing) to monetise.
  • Ongoing SEO: build more backlinks, update content regularly, monitor mobile-UX, and Core Web Vitals.
